Louis van Gaal: “I don’t know why our fans shout ‘attack”
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has insisted that his side play attacking football despite failing to score for the fifth time in 15 Premier League matches this season.
United were held to a sixth goalless draw of the campaign in all competitions by West Ham United at Old Trafford on Saturday, despite the home side having numerous attempts on goal.
Van Gaal has dismissed claims that his side do not show enough offensive intent on the pitch and questioned why fans at Old Trafford have taken to shouting “attack” at his players. “I am pleased with the performance but when you create that many chances you have to score,” said the Dutchman.
