Madison Keys advances to Brisbane Quarterfinals

Madison Keys has continued her good start to the season with a hard-earned win over Diana Shnaider at the Brisbane International, advancing to the quarterfinals after a 6–7(5), 7–6(5), 7–6(4) victory.

The match lasted three tight sets, each settled by a tiebreak. Both players played aggressively throughout, with neither able to pull away in the deciding moments. Keys recovered after losing the opening set and stayed composed in the final two tiebreaks to secure the win.

The result extends Keys’ winning streak in Australia to 14 consecutive matches. She is now 2–0 to begin the season and into the quarterfinals for the second time in Brisbane.

Up next for Keys is a quarterfinal against Aryna Sabalenka. The quarterfinal will be a rematch of the 2025 Australian Open final, where Keys claimed the title. Sabalenka holds a 5–2 lead in their overall head-to-head and won their most recent meeting at Indian Wells last year in straight sets.

With both players known for their skill in the court, the Brisbane quarterfinal is expected to be one of the standout matches of the tournament.
