Madueke Opens Up On Chelsea Move

Noni Madueke has revealed the reasons behind his decision to join Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Madueke teamed up with the Blues in a deal worth £29m from PSV in the winter window.

The left-footed winger was born in London and was formerly on the books of Crystal Palace and Tottenham.

The 20-year-old is convinced that he made the right decision to join Graham Potter’s team.

“There was never any doubt to be honest. It is the biggest club in London and one of the biggest in the world – it’s an exciting project and I know I am not the finished article, but I feel deep I know I will succeed. Madueke told Sky Sports.

“I think for a lot of players they go through the decision-making process, but for me, it was no decision to make.

The former England youth international also revealed that the lure of returning back to London was too big to turn down.

“I wanted to come home, I wanted to come back home, and what better club to do it than if you are from London. It was a no-brainer, I said alright cool, I got what I could, got a haircut and then went to the airport.”

Madueke was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham on Sunday.

He is yet to open his goalscoring account for Chelsea since joining in January.
