Maduka Okoye names Galatasaray ‘The Best’ In Turkey
Maduka Okoye has raised transfer rumours after calling Galatasaray the best football club in Turkey, ahead of Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
Galatasaray is regarded as Turkey’s most successful club, with 24 Turkish Super Lig titles, 18 Turkish Cup wins, and 17 Turkish Super Cup trophies. The club has also made an impact in Europe, winning both the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
Although Okoye signed a new contract with Udinese last August, his future at the club is uncertain due to his involvement in a betting scandal, which could result in a ban from football. The Nigerian goalkeeper has been excluded from Udinese’s squad for the rest of the season, meaning he won’t play competitive football again this term.
It is also unlikely that Okoye will be called up to the Nigerian national team for next month’s important 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, given his lack of game time at Udinese.
Reports suggest Okoye has been offered a move to Galatasaray as the transfer window approaches. When asked about the club, his response was seen as a possible indication of an upcoming transfer. Okoye replied to a message that said, “If Osimhen is your friend, you should come to Galatasaray,” by saying, “Galatasaray is definitely Turkey’s number one.”
Okoye has previously played for DJK SC Flingern 08, Fortuna Düsseldorf, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayer Leverkusen, Sparta Rotterdam, and Watford.
