Manchester City have confirmed that Rúben Dias will be sidelined for around six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury, adding to an already serious defensive crisis.
Dias picked up the injury after starting in Sunday’s 1–1 draw with Chelsea, a result that left Man City six points behind league leaders Arsenal following Enzo Fernández’s late equaliser.
The setback compounds Man City’s problems at the back. Joško Gvardiol is already ruled out with a tibial fracture, while John Stones remains unavailable with no clear return date. Nathan Aké is currently the only senior centre-back fit.
With fixtures against Brighton, an FA Cup tie, and the Manchester derby ahead, Pep Guardiola may be forced to pair Aké with young defender Abdukodir Khusanov, while academy players such as Ryan McAidoo remain in the frame.
