Man Utd game arguably the best of my career – Francis Uzoho
It is a dream come true
Francis Uzoho is convinced he played his career-best game against Manchester United when Omonia Nicosia visited Old Trafford in a Europa League group game on Thursday.
The Nigerian goalkeeper was by far the best player on the field as he repeatedly denied the home team from scoring until a late Scott McTominay goal.
Francis Uzoho whose mistake was one of the reasons Nigeria failed to pick a ticket to Qatar 2022 made an incredible 11 saves against Manchester United.
“I am not disappointed, because we had a great game,” said Uzoho to BT Sports.
“But I would have preferred to at least get a point, but it is not an easy stadium to play in with all these big players.”
Uzoho revel in the fulfillment of his dream to one day play at Old Trafford his boyhood club stadium.
” Yes, I am a Manchester United fan,” said Uzoho.
“It is a dream come through for me, I have dreamed of playing here for a long time, so when I saw the draw and I figured out that I would be playing at Old Trafford.
“I wanted to play, I prayed to God to get an opportunity to play, so I got it and I am happy I played here.”
The 23-year-old goalie also said the game was the best of his career till date.
“Arguably, yes, I think so.
“I am proud of myself and my teammates most especially because it was not a one-man job, we gave everything other on the field, so like I said I am happy with my performance and that is it.”
