Manchester City found Guilty of 114 Premier League Financial Charges

Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty of 114 of the 115 financial charges brought against the club by the Premier League.

An independent commission reached the verdict after a lengthy investigation into the club’s finances between 2009 and 2018. One of the 115 charges was dismissed.

The Premier League charged City in February 2023 after a four-year investigation into alleged breaches of its financial regulations. The accusations included claims that the club failed to provide accurate financial information on revenue, player and manager payments, and other financial matters.

Manchester City have consistently denied wrongdoing.

The club is also expected to appeal the verdict, while the sanctions have not yet been decided.

That means the question now is what punishment, if any, Manchester City will receive.

Under Premier League rules, an independent commission can impose any kind of sanction; it could be a fine or points deduction, while other sporting penalties are also possible.

For now, however, no sanctions have been announced. City are expected to challenge the verdict through the appeal process.
