‘Manchester City must win Champions League’ – Yaya Toure
Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has stated that they must win major trophies like the Champions League if they want to be one of the biggest clubs in the world.
The Sky Blues have won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup since the 32-year-old joined them in 2010, but have struggled to deliver in Europe’s premier club competition.
Toure has insisted that he will do all that he can to turn City into a force both at home and in Europe. “We have to win the Champions League, several trophies over many years,” the Ivorian told the Sunday Times. “We have to show Manchester United, ‘Yeah we’re becoming like you.’
They’ve been winning trophies for years and I want City to be like them. That is what I am fighting for and I will never give up.” “Sometimes I play with injuries, but I want to show the boss and the fans I’m there to fight until the end. [Critics] don’t understand that.
I want to leave my mark. My target is to be the biggest club in the world.” City failed to win a trophy last season.
Do you think Manchester City can win the trophy with the big ears?
