Manchester City stroll past Real Madrid to reach Champions League Final

Manchester City strolled into the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League final with a 4-0 semi-final 2nd-leg win over Real Madrid to seal a 5-1 aggregate result.

A 1-1 first leg score left the encounter poised for a thrilling 2nd-leg and Pep Guardiola`s men did not disappoint the cheering home crowd on Wednesday night,

Manchester City will now face Inter Milan in the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League Final at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul on June 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED

As expected, Manchester City dominated the opening exchanges, forcing Madrid to seat in their own half . Erling Haaland was denied twice by Courtois leaving the crowd tensed until the first goal arrived.

Kevin De Bruyne picked Bernado Silva with a pass that sent the Portuguese Midfielder face to face with Courtois. Silva will fire into the near post to beat the goalie in the 27th minute.

1-0 for a 2-1 aggregate lead, City continued to press, a delight for the cheering home crowd who soon had the crossbar to the rescue when Toni Kross tested.

Bernado Silva then doubled City`s lead in the 37th minute. Gundogan had a goal bound shot blocked towards Bernardo who sent a looping header a defender stationed on the goal-line for a 2-0 first half lead.

A quiet opening quater to the second half was dominated by Yellow cards for reckless tackles and Real Madrid substitutions, Ancelotti replaced Luka Modric with Rudigier before Marco Asensio was sent on for Toni Kross.

Courtois then denied Erling Haaland in the 72nd minute, deflecting the strikers effort inches off target to keep Madrid in the contest.

In the 75th minute, Akanji saw his goal-bound header deflected in by Real Madrid header Eder Militao for 3-0.

Substitute Julian Alvarez rounded up the rout when the scored on the stroke of 90`.

JOB DONE!, the City fans turned their back in celebration of with their team heading to a second UEFA Champions League Final.

At full-time it was Manchester City 4-0 Real Madrid.

Final set vs Inter Milan with a positive feeling this could finally be their year as they travel to Istanbul in their best form.
