Manchester United to Spend ₦146 Billion on Cameroonian Star Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United is set to sign another big player—this time, it’s Cameroonian forward Bryan Mbeumo, a teammate of goalkeeper André Onana.
The Red Devils have agreed to a deal with Brentford to buy Mbeumo for £71 million (about ₦146 billion), showing their clear intention to improve their attack next season.
Mbeumo Joins After Long Chase
United manager Ruben Amorim has been trying to sign Mbeumo all summer. He sees the 25-year-old forward as key to fixing United’s weak attack, which scored only 44 Premier League goals last season—their lowest since 1992.
After Brentford rejected two earlier offers of £55 million and £62.5 million, United finally reached an agreement: £65 million upfront, with another £6 million in possible add-ons.
Mbeumo Choose United Over Other Clubs
Tottenham and Arsenal were also interested, especially since Spurs’ coach Thomas Frank used to manage Mbeumo at Brentford. But the player made it clear he only wanted to join Manchester United, helping the club win the race.
A Proven Premier League Goal Threat
Mbeumo has been a standout performer in the Premier League. Last season, he scored 20 goals. Since joining Brentford from Troyes in 2019 for just £5.8 million, he has scored 70 goals in 242 games for the club—including 42 goals in 136 Premier League matches.
Strong, fast, and clever, Mbeumo will join new signing Matheus Cunha as part of Amorim’s plan to build a more dangerous United attack.
With these big moves, Manchester United is clearly aiming to bounce back stronger next season.
