Manu Garba identifies goalkeeping concerns in U-20 Nations cup bound Eagles
2013 U-17 FIFA World Cup winning Coach Manu Garba has identified key areas U-20 Eagles goalkepeer Nathaniel Nwosu must improve on ahead of the Nations Cup.
Manu Garba in a chat with sports journalists in Abuja said the tall goalkepeer has to work on his grip and ball distribution with his legs.
Garba said ” I think the boy has problems with his grip. On several occasions some harmless balls came and he could not grip it. ”
” I spoke to Baruwa the goalkeeping coach, to work on those mistakes and as a tall goalkepeer there was a ball that was passed to him that he controlled with his leg.
” He slowed down and the attacker almost got the ball from him.
” He should be be very quick when distributing the ball with his legs too. ” Garba advised.
Nwosu is the Flying Eagles first choice goalkeeper and isbexpected to man the post when Nigeria participate in the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The tall goalkepeer was in goal as the Ladan Bosso tutored Flying Eagles won the WAFU Zone B title and qualify for the continental showpiece.
