Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has praised midfielder Moises Caicedo, saying he is now one of the best in the Premier League.
Maresca believes that Caicedo has reached the same level as top midfielders like Rodri from Manchester City and Declan Rice from Arsenal.
Caicedo faced criticism when he joined Chelsea for a record transfer from Brighton last year. However, he has improved steadily under Maresca and is now a key player for the team.
Maresca compared Caicedo’s performances to Rodri, who won the Ballon d’Or, and Rice, both of whom were named in last season’s Premier League Team of the Year. He believes Caicedo now belongs in that top group of midfielders.
“He is for sure now at that level. No doubt,” said Maresca. “Rodri is injured, but Declan is playing. I think Moises can sit at that table with those kinds of midfielders.”
Next, Chelsea will play Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, hoping to earn their ninth Premier League win of the season.
