Max Verstappen discusses Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton’s decision to join Ferrari for the 2025 Formula One season has sparked conversations across the racing world.

Max Verstappen, the reigning triple world champion from Red Bull, recently shared his thought on this seismic move, saying that while not unexpected, the timing of the announcement adds to the complexity and excitement for the upcoming season.

Verstappen, speaking at the launch of Red Bull’s new car, indicated that Hamilton’s departure from Mercedes was not entirely unforeseen.

He said “At the end of the day, seeing him go to Ferrari is not a surprise,”

” If that’s your goal as a kid or your dream then you go, right?”

” The only thing for me was that it seemed like it [the news] was a bit leaked of course and then they had to announce it because to announce something that big that early in the season I think for sure for the rest of the year is a little bit awkward.

“Even though you have had a lot of success together as a team, you can’t be included into everything anymore.

“But for him going to Ferrari it’s not really shocking.”  F1’s reigning triple world champion, told reporters.

As earlier reported by Sportsration, Hamilton concluded his 11-year stint with Mercedes, during which he secured six of his seven world titles.

While his partnership with Mercedes seemed poised to define the latter part of his Formula One career, news of his transfer to Ferrari sent shockwaves through the racing community.

Verstappen elaborated on the potential implications of Hamilton’s departure, noting that certain discussions and information within Mercedes may be withheld from him as the season progresses.

However, he is sure that professional decorum would prevail, with Mercedes continuing to support Hamilton’s pursuit of success on the track.
