Meet Super Falcons new-invitee Omorinsola Babajide

WHEN WAS HE BORN: Omorinsola Omowunmi Ajike Babajide was born in London, England on the 17th of June 1998. She is 25-years old.
HER PARENTS: Omorinsola was born to Nigerian immigrant parents. Therefore she is a Nigerian by Naturalization and English by birth.
FOOTBALL CAREER: New Super Falcons invitee, Omorinsola Babajide hit limelight when she scored 14 goals for the University of East London Women football team in a friendly match against the University College London Women’s football team that ended 40-0, in 2016.
Babajide, then joined Liverpool on January 25, 2018, and went on to become their second-leading goal scorer during the 2018–19 WSL season.
At Liverpool FC, Omorinsola was sent on loan to Brighton & Hove Albion, it did not go as planned and so ended abruptly.
Babajide later joined Spanish team, Real Betis as a free agent.
After 18-months at Real Betis, Babajide signed a two-year contract with fellow Liga F team UD Grandilla Tenerife .
INTERNATIONAL CAREER: Omorinsola Babajide represented England at Under-20 and Under-21 levels.
The forward was a crucial part of the Bronze medal winning England squad to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2018.
Omorinsola Babajide has now switched allegiance from England to Nigeria and could make her Super Falcons debut against Ethiopia in a Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifier.
The first leg of the second-round match will be held in Ethiopia’s capital city of Addis Ababa on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 while Nigeria hosts the return leg on October 31.
