Meet the retired Brazilian who claims Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar not as good as he was
A retired Brazilian player not Edson Arantes do Nascimento or Ronaldo Fenomeno has said super stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi; and his country’s golden man, Neymar Jr. not as good as he was.
Edílson da Silva Ferreira who featured for clubs like Benfica, Flamengo and Corinthians amongst other during his 26-year career believes the trio not better than him.
For Lionel Messi who is regarded by many as the greatest of all time, Edilson said he needs to win the world cup to be a better player than him.
Edilson who was a member of the Selecao world cup winning team in 2002 said he was a better player compared to Neymar and that his country star player needs to win the world cup to be considered greater than him.
Edilson however, acknowledged Juventus super star, Cristiano Ronaldo as a player capable of scoring with both feet but he claimed to be more skillful than the former Madrid legend.
‘At my best, I played better than Neymar. He needs to win the World Cup in order to be better than me,’ he told TV Bandeirantes.
‘I have personality and for Messi to be better than me, he also has to win the World Cup.
‘Cristiano Ronaldo is just strength, he strikes the ball well with both feet but I’m more skilful than him.’
Edilson played for more than 18 clubs and scored a total of 163 goals in 351 club appearances.
