Mfon Udoh shares ‘awesome’ feeling after starring in AFC Cup win
Nigerian striker, Mfon Udoh has shared the ‘awesome’ feeling of making his return from injury in Bashundhura King’s AFC cup win over Maziya.
The game on Monday, November 28, 2023 was a matchday five fixture of the AFC Cup with Mfon Udoh making his return from injury sustained in May.
The former Nigeria Premier Football League goal-king was named in the Bashundhara Kings starting XI by manager Oscar Bruzon for the home-game against their Maldivian opposition.
Udoh starred for 90′ minutes as Bashundhura Kings edged Maziya 2-1 to go top of the 2023/2024 Asian Football Clubs Cup group D.
In the keenly contested fixture at the Bashundhura arena, it was Maziya who took the lead in the 10th minute through Obeng Regan.
Udoh and Kings toiled hard to find a way back into the game and got due reward in the closing stages.
Boburbek Yuldashev drew Bashundhura level in the 80th minute before Miguel Figueira struck in the 88th minute to complete the comeback and seal a 2-1 win for the hosts.
With his side in front, Mfon Udoh was taken off in stoppage time for Mohammed Rana after an enterprising performance on his return from injury.

After the important win, Mfon Udoh took to his verified facebook page to express his feeling after returning to action.
The former Enyimba FC and Akwa United FC forward wrote “” Feels so good to be back at it…Awesome God ” alongside photos from the AFC Cup game.
BASHUNDHURA KINGS IN THE AFC CUP
After the win over Maziya, Bashundhura Kings sit top of group D with ten points from five matches.
They are closely followed by Indian club, Odisha who have garnered nine points.
Mohun Bagan are third with seven points while Maziya are bottom of the group with three points.
Udoh and his teammates will conclude the AFC Cup group stage when they travel to India to face Odisha FC on December 11.
