Mikel Arteta provides update on Saka’s Injury after Arsenal’s win over Liverpool
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has delivered an optimistic update on Bukayo Saka’s injury after the winger was substituted during Arsenal’s 3-1 victory against Liverpool.
Saka, who opened the scoring for the Gunners, received treatment for an injury late in the game but is expected to be fine, according to Arteta.
On the other hand, Arteta expressed more concern over full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko, who appeared to aggravate a pre-existing calf issue.
Speaking about Saka’s condition, Arteta told reporters after the game, “He should be fine. He got a kick, I think on the ankle or on the back of his foot, but he should be fine.” However, the Arsenal boss was less certain about Zinchenko, stating, “With Alex (Zinchenko), we don’t know. He had this feeling in his calf again, and we had to take him off.”
Saka is known for his dynamic playing style that occasionally results in minor injuries, but Arteta is optimistic that the 20-year-old will recover quickly.
For Zinchenko, he has faced multiple injury issues, particularly related to calf problems since joining Arsenal from Manchester City.
Looking ahead, Arsenal has a free week before their next match, providing time for players to recover. The Gunners will face West Ham United at the London Stadium next Sunday, giving them ample time to nurse any bumps and bruises from the physical encounter against Liverpool.
