Mikel Arteta reacts to Barcelona links
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has given his reaction to the rumuors linking him to Barcelona job.
Arteta, 40 is doing a great job at Arsenal at the moment with the Gunners top of the Premier League log having won 10 of their 12 games.
They are two points ahead of Manchester City and could finish top in their Europa League group if they beat Zurich on Thursday.
The Spaniard has got his team firing from all cylinders and playing impressive football, hence, the link to the Barcelona job despite having Xavi Hernandez, a former Catalan in charge.
Under Xavi’s management, Barcelona have failed to make it to the knockout stages of the Champions League in the last two year, something that is worrying for the club of Barça status.
But Arteta who has two tough games in the next four days said his focus is only on Arsenal as he is happy where he is.
“What I can say is I am extremely proud and happy to be where I am now. I think Barcelona are on a really good path now.
“I think they have a phenomenal coach, a coach who has been an absolute legend at that club and has lifted the whole place, and you have to be very respectful of that.”
Arsenal will play Zurich on Thursday in a Europa League game, and Chelsea on Sunday in a Premier League game.
