Mo Salah Says Relationship with Arne Slot Has Broken Down, Claims Someone at Liverpool Wants Him Out

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has said his relationship with manager Arne Slot has fallen apart, adding that he believes someone at the club no longer wants him there.

Speaking after Liverpool’s 3–3 draw against Leeds United, Salah said he was shocked to be named on the bench for the third match in a row and to remain unused for the whole game.

“I have done so much for this club over the years, especially last season,” Salah said. “Now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why.

“It feels like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I feel. I think it is clear that someone wanted me to take all the blame.

“I was given many promises in the summer, but after three games on the bench, I can’t say those promises have been kept.

“I said many times that I had a good relationship with the manager, and suddenly we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why, but it seems to me that someone doesn’t want me at the club.”

Salah is set to leave for the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt on 15 December, meaning Liverpool’s match against Brighton at Anfield next Saturday will be his last game before the tournament.

He also hinted it could be his last match for Liverpool altogether.

“I told my family, ‘Come to the Brighton game.’ I don’t know if I will play or not, but I want to enjoy it,” he said. “In my head, I will enjoy that game because I don’t know what will happen next.

“I will be at Anfield to say goodbye to the fans before I go to AFCON. I don’t know what will happen while I’m there.”
