Moffi on target as Lorient lose to Olympique Marseille
Super Eagles striker nets 12th league goal for Lorient
Terem Moffi was on the scoresheet for FC Lorient as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Olympique Marseille in their Ligue 1 clash. The 23-year-old opened the scoring for his side before seeing them fall to a defeat away from home.
Moffi, who is on the radar of several clubs including Southampton and OGC Nice was in rich vein of form heading into the game, having scored in his side’s draw against AS Monaco last week.
Moffi opened the scoring for his side after only 29 minutes. The Super Eagles striker was on the end of a lofted pass from Yoann Cathline and met the ball with a low volley to put his side in front in the game.
Olympique Marseille equalised within nine minutes as former Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac headed home a cross from Cengiz Under. Two further goals from Alexis Sanchez and Jordan Veretout came in the 53rd and 59th minutes, sealing a seventh consecutive win for Marseille against FC Lorient, their best such run against any top-flight Ligue 1 team.
