Moffi scores 17th Ligue One goal of the season in Nice win over Rennes
Nigerian striker Terem Moffi scored his 17th French Ligue One goal of the season as OGC Nice defeated Rennes 2-1 on Saturday May 6.
That goal clipped the strikers four game goal drought and took him up to sixth place on the goal-scorers chart in France.
Nice and Rennes went into the break level on 0-0 but three minutes into the second half, the hosts finally broke the deadlock.
Gaetan Laborde fired in a shot from inside the penalty area off a Badredine Bouanani assist.
Nice went 2-0 up when Terem Moffi took advantage of a defensive blunder to dribble past goalkeeper Steve Mandanda before slotting the ball into an empty net.
Rennes did setup up a nervy final period after Bourigeaud pulled one back for the visitors with 12-minutes to go.
The win takes OGC Nice up to 8th on the standings with 51-points from 34 matches.
For Moffi, only Kylian Mbappe (23), Jonathan David (21), Alexandre Lacazette (20), Loïs Openda (18) and Folarin Balogun (18) have scored more French Ligue One goals this season.
