Mohamed Salah Signs New Liverpool Contract
Mohamed Salah has ended all rumours about his future by signing a new contract with Liverpool, SportsRation reports on April 11, 2025.
The Premier League leaders confirmed on their official website on Friday morning that the Egyptian star has agreed to a new deal.
Although the club did not say how long the contract is, Salah suggested it may be for two more years, saying he hopes to play for Liverpool for ten years in total.
Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 from AS Roma, after earlier spells at FC Basel and Chelsea. Since then, he has scored 243 goals in 394 matches for the Reds.
His new contract puts an end to rumours that Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman was being lined up to replace him at Anfield.
Lookman, who currently plays for Atalanta in Italy, is expected to leave the club this summer. His past experience in the Premier League and homegrown status have made him an attractive option for English teams.
The 26-year-old has played for Everton, Fulham and Leicester City, and is just four games away from 100 Premier League appearances. Since joining Atalanta, he has scored 50 goals and made 22 assists in 112 matches.
Lookman has also been linked with moves to other top clubs in Serie A, Ligue 1 and La Liga ahead of the summer transfer window.
