Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has opened up about why he struggled in his first season at the club.

The 23-year-old joined Chelsea for a club-record €116 million, but his first season was challenging. Caicedo found it difficult to live up to his high price tag, and both he and the team faced struggles.

Caicedo admitted that one of the reasons for his struggles was the pressure of trying to fill the shoes of N’Golo Kanté, a player who was a big figure at Chelsea. He said, “Last season, I had the pressure of being the new N’Golo Kanté. That affected me a lot.”

However, this season, Caicedo’s form has improved. He has become a key player for Chelsea, helping the team perform well. Caicedo explained that once he stopped worrying about comparing himself to Kanté, he was able to focus on his own game and show that he was worth the transfer fee
