Morocco beat Brazil in Tangier
The Atlas Lions of Morocco have secured a famous 2-1 victory over the Selecao of Brazil in a friendly game in Tangier on Saturday.
Sofiane Boufal and Abdelhamid Sabiri scored Morocco’s goal while captain Casemiro scored Brazil’s goal as interim boss Ramon Menezes suffered defeat in his first game.
Morocco were determined to show that their run at the world cup was no fluke and they achieved just that in their first game after the Mundial.
Brazil scored in the 26th minute but the referee disallowed the goal for offside, and three minutes after their goal wwas disallowed they conceded one.
Sofiane Boufal’s beautiful technique put Morocco up from Bilal El Khannouss cut back. Boufal stopped the pass with his left backing the goal then turned, shooting with his right.
Brazil ended the first half in search of a goal as Morocco ended the first 45 minutes on top.
The Samba boys continued from where they left it in the first half, pushing for a goal, and they eventually got one in the 67th minute through captain Casemiro.
Morocco goalie, Bono was at fault for the goal as the Sevilla number one made a mistake keeping the tame shot out.
In the 79th minute, Abdelhamid Sabiri fired in the winning goal.
The Atlas Lions held on to their lead to secure their first-ever win against Brazil
