Morocco crushes Egypt 6-0 to win Bronze in Men’s Football at Paris 2024 Olympics

Morocco delivered a stunning performance in the bronze medal match of the men’s football tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympics, thrashing Egypt 6-0.

The Atlas Lions were relentless from the start, with Soufiane Rahimi leading the charge by scoring twice. Rahimi’s goals took his tournament tally to eight, making him the first player to score in six consecutive Olympic games.

Morocco’s dominance was clear as they took control of the match early on. In the first half, Abde Ezzalzouli opened the scoring with a brilliant goal from the left side of the area. Rahimi then doubled Morocco’s lead with a precise header.

Despite a strong start from Egypt, their hopes were dashed as Morocco struck again. Bilal El Khannouss made it 3-0 with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box, effectively ending Egypt’s chances.

In the 64th minute, Rahimi turned provider, assisting Akram Nakach for Morocco’s fourth goal. As the game neared its end, Achraf Hakimi added a spectacular free-kick from 30 yards out to seal the 6-0 victory.

This emphatic win marks Morocco’s best Olympic performance in football, making them the fourth African nation to secure a third-place finish in the men’s football tournament. Egypt, meanwhile, was left to ponder their elimination from the competition.
