Moses Simon on target as Nantes defeat Montpellier
Moses Simon has kicked off the new season in style, helping Nantes secure a 3-1 away victory against Montpellier in their latest Ligue 1 match.
The Nigerian winger scored his second goal of the season, continuing his strong form after previously netting in Nantes’ 2-0 win over Auxerre.
Nantes opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Abline, but Montpellier quickly equalised six minutes later with a goal from Adams. Simon then restored Nantes’ lead from the penalty spot, and Mohamed sealed the win with a late goal.
This marks Nantes’ second consecutive win, and Simon, who missed much of last season due to injury, is showing his determination to make an impact this time around.
The Nigerian international will be hoping to carry this form into the Super Eagles’ upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
