Moses Simon Wins Another Award in France
Moses Simon, a forward for the Super Eagles, has been named Player of the Month for December by French Ligue 1 club Nantes.
Although Simon had to take a break in late December for surgery on an ankle injury, he had an excellent first half of the season. In his first 14 games, he scored four goals and made five assists.
In December, he played twice for Nantes. In the first match, he scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory against Rennes, a stunning goal where he dribbled past defenders and curled the ball into the net. In their second match against Brest, Simon assisted the only goal in a 4-1 loss.
After his strong performances, Nantes fans voted him Player of the Month, with Simon receiving 44% of the votes. Other nominees were Douglas Augusto, Nicolas Cozza, and Matthis Abline.
Simon will receive his award at Nantes’ stadium before their game against Monaco on January 10. This is Simon’s second Player of the Month award, having won the same honor in September.
