Muiz Bello on target as Nigeria suffers an embarrassing 13-1 loss to Egypt at Africa Hockey Cup

It was not the start the Nigeria men national team, Green Sticks anticipated as they went down to hosts Egypt in their opener at the onging Africa Hockey Nations Cup in Ismaila.

The highly ranked Nothern africans smashed Nigeria from all corners of the pitch in a rather on sided game as they ran away with a comfortable 13-1 win on Sunday.

Egypt who are ranked 19th in the world proved too technical, experienced and ready than their counterparts from Nigeria on Sunday.

After the first and second quarters Egypt were already 7 goals up as scored three of the goals through penalty corners.

The Egyptians then increased their tally to in the 3rd and fourth quarters to 13 but Union Bank’s Muiz Bello scored a consolation goal for the Green Sticks.

Up next for Nigeria ranked 55 in the world is a tie against another Hockey giants world number 15 South Africa.
