Musa eyes a Nigeria win against Sierra Leone in his mother’s home town for the fans

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa is looking forward to a win for Nigeria in the first instalment of their AFCON qualifiers games against Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.

Nigeria tackle the Lone Stars in their third game of the qualifiers in Benin without the fans and media as the CAF pushes to observe the world wide COVID-19 protocol.

For Musa, whose mother hailed from Benin, the clash would have been super cool for him if his friends and family members were allowed to see him play.

But the former Leicester City star who understood the decision to not allow fans grace the occasion was the benefit of everyone wants Super Eagles to win for the fans.

“Playing in Benin is great. It’s the home town of my mum.

“I would have love to see my family members come around and watch this game, but there is nothing we can do about it,” Musa declared in an interview with the Super Eagles media team.

“It is all about the situation of things at the moment, the pandemic here in Nigeria and other parts of the world. There is nothing we can do, we have to play the game without the fans.

“We will do our best to qualify and make the fans happy.”

The match would be played on Friday by 5pm at the at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin
