Musona Confident Zimbabwe Can Beat Nigeria in Uyo
Zimbabwe forward Knowledge Musona believes the Warriors can get a famous win against Nigeria in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Warriors, coached by Michael Nees, are yet to win a match in the qualifiers. They are bottom of Group C with two points from four games.
Zimbabwe will first play against Benin Republic today (Thursday) at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. After that, they will travel to Nigeria to face the Super Eagles next Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Musona is confident his team can win both games.
“I’m happy to be back and excited for the upcoming matches,” Musona told Zimbabwe news outlet NewsDay. “My first training session went well, and I’ve seen a lot of quality in the squad.”
He added, “The future looks bright for the Warriors. I’m ready to help the young players and support their growth.”
Musona believes hard work will be key. “In football, anything is possible. We need to focus first on getting three points against Benin before we think about Nigeria. If we work hard in training and give our best in the matches, we can get six points from these two games.”
“I really believe in this team,” he said. “And I hope we can win both games to keep our dream of qualifying for the World Cup alive.”
