Nagelsmann dumps Simeone’s Atleti to set UCL record better than Guardiola & Mourinho
Julian Nagelsmann has guided RB Leipzig to the 2019-2020 Champions League semifinal after a 2-1 quarter-final win against Atletico Madrid.
The 33-year-old German manager dumped Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid out of the Champions League in a dramatic fashion.
First half goal from Daniel Olmo was cancelled out by Joao Felix spot kick before a deflected shot from Tyler Adams secured a 2-1 win for Julian Nagelsmann side.
The win means Leipzig will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinal, a match which will pitch Julian Nagelsmann against Thomas Tuchel whom he worked with at Augsburg II im 2008.
At 33, Julian Nagelsmann is also the youngest manager to youngest ever manager to reach a Champions League Semi-final.
Five years younger than Pep Guardiola when he did it with Barcelona in 2009, and 8 years younger than Jose Mourinho when he did it with Porto in 2004.
