Napoli doctors told us Osimhen was injured – Peseiro
Super Eagles headcoach Jose Peseiro has given his take on the injury that made Victor Osimhen pull out of Nigeria friendly against Portugal.
Nigeria and Portugal will play in a friendly match today at the Estadio Jose Alvalde stadium.
But will do so without Victor Osimhen who was said to have pulled because of injury and replaced by Cyriel Dessers.
Osimhen’s withdrawal due to injuries surprised many Nigerian fans who watched him play om Saturday during Napoli’s 3-2 win against Udinese without any injury concerns.
With different views and theories circulating over the incident, coach Peseiro has revealed his side of the story.
The Portuguese told NFFTV that Napoli doctors imformed the federation about Osimhen’s injury.
“Doctors from Napoli spoke to our doctor that Osimhen is not fit even in the last club game he felt pains in the back.
“They sent in a report and are with our doctor they said he will need between 10-15 days to fully recover.
“Of course, I will like to play him but there is nothing I can do, I always like to play the best”, Peseiro said.
Cristiano Ronaldo will also miss the friendly game due to stomach bug.
