Napoli manager Antonio Conte distances himself from Victor Osimhen’s transfer situation
Napoli manager Antonio Conte has made it clear that he is not involved in the ongoing transfer situation surrounding Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.
Since returning for preseason, Osimhen, who plays as a striker for both Napoli and the Nigerian national team, has been training separately from the rest of the squad. This raised concerns, especially after Napoli’s heavy defeat to Hellas Verona, prompting questions about the striker’s absence.
When asked about the situation, Conte directed the inquiry to the club’s management. “This is a question you have to ask the club, not me,” Conte told Football Italia. “I see that Osimhen has been training separately since his return. You need to ask the club, not me.”
Conte further clarified his stance, stating, “From the beginning, I’ve positioned myself as a spectator in this story.” His comments suggest that the club’s management, not the coach, is handling the situation regarding Osimhen’s future at Napoli.
