Napoli President and Son Receive Death Threats Over Osimhen Transfer to Galatasaray

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis and his son, Edoardo, have received death threats from angry Galatasaray fans who are demanding that the club approve Victor Osimhen’s transfer to the Turkish side.

What Happened?

A Galatasaray supporter reportedly sent threatening and vulgar messages to Edoardo De Laurentiis via WhatsApp, urging him not to block Osimhen’s permanent move to Galatasaray. A screenshot of one of the messages was shared on social media platform X by Turkish journalist Samet Cayir.

Background

Victor Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last summer and impressed with 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 matches across all competitions. His strong performance has led the Turkish club to push for a permanent deal.

However, Napoli are demanding €40 million upfront, plus an additional €35 million to be paid by 2026, as well as a percentage of any future resale. Galatasaray, on the other hand, wants to delay the second payment until 2027 and remove the resale clause — a condition Napoli is not willing to accept.

Osimhen’s Record

The Nigerian striker was the top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig last season with 26 goals. He also has 26 goals in 41 appearances for Nigeria.

What’s Next?

Negotiations are still ongoing between both clubs. Napoli reportedly see no future for Osimhen at the club and are willing to sell, but only under their terms.

Despite the threats, no official statement has been made by the De Laurentiis family or Napoli. Authorities may be called to investigate the incident as tensions rise over the unresolved transfer.
