Napoli to face Ajax without Osimhen
Napoli will face Ajax on Tuesday October 4 without Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen who is currently recovering from injury .
The UEFA Champions League Matchday three encounter at the Johan Cruyff arena will happen too soon for the forward who returned to training last week .
A statement by the Italian Serie A side last week set October 9 as the earliest possible date for Victor Osimhen’s return to action .
“Osimhen is about to return, there are still a few days left, something more than a week, to see him on the pitch to train with his teammates.
“To see him again in the stadiums, in Italy and Europe, we will have to wait a little more, probably at least until October 9, the date of the match against Cremonese, round-trip matches with Ajax in the Champions League,” The club statement read .
Napoli will head into the clash top of Group A and knowing a win will put them one foot in the Knockout rounds .
Luciano Spalleti’s men have enjoyed a roller coaster start to the 2022/2023 season and are unbeaten in all competitions .
Without their influential forward , Napoli have had no problems scoring goals and will still pose serious attacking threat to Ajax in the UEFA champions league clash .
