Nasarawa United coach Usman Adams celebrates win over Sokoto United

Nasarawa United head coach Usman Adams expressed his delight after his team secured a 2-1 victory over Sokoto United in the matchday two of the Super Eight playoff tournament.

The match which took place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024, was a keenly contested encounter that saw the Solid Miners emerge victorious.

Adams commended his players for their outstanding performance and resilience throughout the game.

“Nobody saw us coming this far. They wrote us off, but better is the end of a matter than the beginning. I lack words to describe my players and coaching crew. They are just incredible,” Adams stated.

Nasarawa United has garnered six points from their two matches in the competition, putting them in a strong position.

“It’s been an emotional season for us and all our supporters and fans alike, especially our Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule, who, together with his deputy, continues to lend sufficient support to the team to return to the Premier League,” Adams added. “We are glad we are where we are, and hopefully, it will be completely sealed and delivered to them and the good people of Nasarawa State and our teaming fans around the globe in no distant time.”

Adams assured fans and supporters of the team’s commitment to fighting till the end of the Super Eight playoffs to secure their return to the Premier League.

“We want to assure everyone who is there for us that we will fight till the end of this Super Eight in order to return home with our shoulders held high in gratitude and celebration. We continue to seek their support to attain this herculean but surmountable task.”

Regarding life in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Adams emphasised a step-by-step approach. “We are taking things one after the other,” he concluded.
