NBA Playoff: Holmgren Leads Thunder to Big Comeback Win Against Grizzlies

Chet Holmgren scored 23 of his 24 points in the second half as the Oklahoma City Thunder came back from 29 points down to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 114-108 on Thursday night. The win gives the Thunder a 3-0 lead in their first-round NBA playoff series.

The turning point came when Memphis star Ja Morant left the game with a hip injury just over three minutes before half-time. At that point, the Grizzlies were leading 67-40 and still held a 26-point lead at the break.

The 29-point comeback is the second-biggest in NBA playoff history since detailed records began in the 1996-97 season. The biggest was when the Los Angeles Clippers came back from 31 points down to beat Golden State in April 2019.

The Thunder, who had already won Game 1 by 51 points – the fifth-largest margin in NBA playoff history – didn’t take the lead in this game until the fourth quarter. They will now look to finish the series on Saturday.
