NBA Playoffs: Celtics, Kings, Knicks secure Game 1 wins

Boston Celtics started their NBA Playoff campaign in style with a 112-99 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Second seed in the Eastern Conference Celtics are looking to replicate last year’s playoff run and they started in the best possible way, blitzing past the Hawks to a 30-point lead by halftime. Jaylen Brown led the scoring in the game with 29 points and 12 rebounds, and Jayson Tatum scored 25 points and 11 rebounds. Dejounte Murray scored 24 points for the Hawks in the game.

In the Western Conference, high-flying Sacramento Kings overcame the might of the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the first round of the Playoffs in Sacramento. Led by D’Tigers coach Mike Brown, the Kings took Game 1 126-123. De’Aaron Fox led the scoring with 38 points and Malik Monk added 32 points for the Kings. Steph Curry scored 30 points for the Warriors.

New York Knicks claimed a 101-97 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of their NBA Playoff series. Jalen Brunson scored 27 points for the Knicks and Julius Randle contributed 19 points and ten rebounds in the game. Donovan Mitchell scored 38 points for the Cavaliers.

Philadelphia 76ers overcame the Brooklyn Nets in their playoff meeting, winning 121-101. Joel Embiid led the scoring for the Sixers with 26 points, and James Harden scored 23 points and 13 assists. Mikal Bridges scored 30 points for the Nets in the game.
