NBA Playoffs Round Up: Curry leads Warriors to a Blazers sweep, Raptors claim key win & Hawks even series
The Golden State Warriors completed a series sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA playoffs, while the Toronto Raptors edged ahead.
Kevin Durant made his return from injury as the Warriors crushed the Trail Blazers 128-103 on Monday to win their Western Conference first-round series 4-0.
The Raptors went 3-2 up against the Milwaukee Bucks thanks to a 118-93 victory.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks drew level with the Washington Wizards after a 111-101 win.
WARRIORS CRUISE
The Warriors scored 45 first-quarter points and never looked back.
Stephen Curry (37 points, eight assists and seven rebounds) led the way, including making seven three-pointers, while Durant had 10 points on his return.
Damian Lillard tried hard for the Trail Blazers, but his 34 points were in vain.
POWELL THE UNLIKELY HERO
Norman Powell was surprisingly the man who led the Raptors to victory with 25 points.
Serge Ibaka (19 points), DeMar DeRozan (18) and Kyle Lowry (16) were also good contributors.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had 30 points and nine rebounds for the Bucks.
HOWARD LEADS HAWKS
Dwight Howard’s double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds helped the Hawks to their win.
Atlanta had seven players in double digits for points, including Paul Millsap (19) and Dennis Schroder (18).
Bradley Beal (32) and John Wall (22) combined for 54 points for the Wizards.
