NBA Playoffs Round Up: Warriors take 2-0 lead as Wizards beat Celtics

The Golden State Warriors pulled clear in their NBA playoff series as the Washington Wizards enjoyed a much-needed win.

The Warriors took a 2-0 series lead against the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference semi-finals thanks to Thursday’s 115-104 victory.

Kevin Durant had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, to go with seven assists.

Draymond Green (21 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals) and Stephen Curry (23 points) were also strong contributors.

The Jazz got 33 points from Gordon Hayward, but struggled to recover from being outscored 33-15 in the first quarter.

Rudy Gobert had a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds but the Jazz need a win when the series heads to Utah on Saturday.

The Wizards got back into their series against the Boston Celtics with a 116-89 win.

John Wall had a game-high 24 points and Marcin Gortat a double-double of 13 points and 16 rebounds in an ill-tempered affair.

After Wizards forward Kelly Oubre Jr. was ejected in the second quarter, guard Brandon Jennings decided to keep taunting Celtics guard Terry Rozier late in the win.

The result was hard fouls by Rozier and he and Jennings were both ejected after receiving a pair of technical fouls.

There were eight total technical fouls during the game as officials had difficulty trying to maintain control.

The Celtics, who got just 13 points from star Isaiah Thomas, lead the series 2-1.
