NBA Recap: AD returns as Lakers defeat Nets
Celtics, Warriors, 76ers all win
Anthony Davis returned from an injury layoff and helped the Los Angeles Lakers to pick up a 106-96 win over the Brooklyn Nets, who failed to win despite James Harden recording a triple-double.
LeBron James led the scoring for the Lakers with 33 points on the night, with Malik Monk and Russell Westbrook recording 22 and 15 points, respectively. Harden recorded 33 points for the Nets with 12 rebounds and 11 assists.
The Golden State Warriors improved to 35-13 after a 130-92 blowout win over the Dallas Mavericks. Rookie Jonathan Kuminga led the scoring for the Warriors with 22 points in 18 minutes on the court. Steph Curry recorded 18 points, and Klay Thompson finished with 15 points.
The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 109-107 in their NBA clash. Anthony Edwards led the scoring for the Timberwolves with a season-high 40 points in the game. DiAngelo Russell tallied 22 points and Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 17 points for the Timberwolves.
The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Houston Rockets 104-134 in their NBA encounter. Dejounte Murray recorded a double-double for the Spurs with 19 points and 10 assists. Jacob Poeltl finished with 18 points and Keldon Johnson had 16 points in the game.
The Boston Celtics picked up a massive 128-75 blowout win over the Sacramento Kings. Jayson Tatum led the scoring with 36 points, four rebounds and six assists. Jaylen Brown finished with 30 points and 10 rebounds in the game.
The Los Angeles Clippers narrowly defeated the Washington Wizards 116-115. Amir Coffey and Luke Kennard combined for 54 points for the Clippers as they claimed a win.
The Denver Nuggets picked up a 110-105 win over the Detroit Pistons in their NBA clash on Tuesday. Nikola Jokic led the scoring for the Nuggets with 28 points and 21 rebounds. Cade Cunningham recorded 34 points for the Pistons in the game.
The Toronto Raptors picked up a 125-113 win over the Charlotte Hornets in their NBA encounter. Gary Trent Jr led the scoring with 32 points, and OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam both recorded 24 points each.
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 117-107. Joel Embiid led the scoring with 42 points and 14 rebounds for the Sixers. Tobias Harris also recorded a double-double of 33 points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers in their win.
