NBA Recap: Embiid leads 76ers to win over James-less Lakers
Curry, Thompson ball out in Warriors win
Joel Embiid was impressive for the Philadelphia 76ers as they claimed a 105-87 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA encounter at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The Cameroonian Embiid led the scoring for the Philadelphia 76ers with 26 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the game. Tobias Harris also had an impressive game as he dropped 23 points for the Sixers. Tyrese Maxey recorded 14 points and 10 assists in the game, too.
In the absence of LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers struggled badly despite having Anthony Davis back to full fitness. Davis led all scorers in the game with 31 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers, and Russell Westbrook contributed 20 points as well.
The Golden State Warriors subdued the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-115 at the Chase Center in their NBA encounter on Thursday.
Steph Curry led the scoring for the Warriors with 29 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the game. Klay Thompson also contributed 23 points with five rebounds and four assists in only 27 minutes on the court. Andrew Wiggins marked the occasion of his first-ever All-Star team involvement by dropping 19 points for the Warriors.
For the Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with a double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds in the game. Anthony Edwards also contributed 27 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Timberwolves in the NBA game.
