NBA Recap: Mitchell drops 71 points in Cavs win as Lakers, Warriors, Nets all win

Donovan Mitchell set a new franchise record in the Cleveland Cavaliers 145-134 OT win over the Chicago Bulls in the NBA on Monday. Mitchell scored 71 points and 11 assists, becoming only the seventh player in NBA history to score 70+ points in a game. Jarrett Allen also added 21 points for the Cavaliers as DeMar DeRozan scored 44 points for the Bulls.

Los Angeles Lakers picked up their 16th win of the season with a 121-115 triumph over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday. LeBron James led the scoring with 43 points and 11 rebounds, and Thomas Bryant scored 18 points with 15 rebounds. Terry Rozier scored 27 points for the Hornets in the game.

Golden State Warriors defeated the Atlanta Hawks 143-141 in OT to claim their 20th win of the season. Klay Thompson led the scoring with 54 points and Jordan Poole added 28 points for the Warriors. Trae Young scored 30 points and 14 assists in the game for the Hawks.

Philadelphia 76ers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 120-111 to improve to 22-14 in the NBA this season. Joel Embiid led the scoring with 42 points and 11 rebounds as James Harden scored 27 points in the game. Zion Williamson scored 26 points for the Pelicans.

Brooklyn Nets picked up their 12th straight win in the NBA as they overcame the San Antonio Spurs 139-103. Kyrie Irving led the scoring with 27 points and Kevin Durant added 25 points and 11 assists. Keldon Johnson scored 22 points for the Spurs in the game.

Indiana Pacers defeated the Toronto Raptors 122-114 in their NBA meeting. Bennedict Mathurin scored 21 points and Buddy Hield scored 19 for the Pacers. Gary Trent Jr scored 32 points for the Raptors in the game.

Dallas Mavericks claimed their seventh straight win with a 111-106 victory over the Houston Rockets on Monday. Luka Doncic led the scoring with 39 points and 12 rebounds, and Christian Wood added 21 points for the Mavericks. Kevin Porter Jr scored 25 points for the Rockets.

Minnesota Timberwolves claimed a 124-111 win over the Denver Nuggets in their NBA encounter. Anthony Edwards scored 29 points and ten rebounds, and Jaden McDaniels added 21 points. Nikola Jokic scored 24 points for the Nuggets in the game.

Portland Trail Blazers claimed a 135-106 win over the Detroit Pistons in their NBA meeting on Monday. Jerami Grant scored 36 points and Anfernee Simon scored 30 points in the game for Portland. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 21 points for the Pistons.

Miami Heat claimed a 110-100 win over the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. Bam Adebayo led the scoring with 31 points and 13 rebounds, and Tyler Herro added 23 points. Paul George scored 25 points for the Clippers.
