NBA Recap: Nets lose 10th consecutive game as Warriors, Bucks also lose
Suns, Grizzlies, Mavericks all win
The Brooklyn Nets lost their tenth straight NBA game this season after a narrow 113-112 loss to the Washington Wizards on Thursday.
The Nets, who traded James Harden just before the trade deadline to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons, were hoping to finally arrest their slump with a performance against the Wizards. They, however, failed to defeat their opponents away from home.
Raul Neto led the scoring for the Wizards with 21 points, and Kyle Kuzma contributed a triple-double of 15 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for the Wizards. Kyrie Irving led the scoring for the Nets with 31 points.
The Phoenix Suns defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 131-107 in their NBA encounter on Thursday. Seven of the ten players that played for the Suns reached double figures for points in the game. Deandre Ayton led the scoring with 27 points, and Chris Paul recorded a double-double of 17 points and 19 assists for the Suns.
The New York Knicks recorded a 116-114 win over the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center. Julius Randle led the scoring for the Knicks, and contributed a double-double of 28 points and 16 rebounds in the game. Evan Fournier also contributed 22 points for the Knicks. Steph Curry led all scorers in the game with 35 points for the Golden State Warriors.
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 112-105 thanks in no small part to the brilliance of Luka Doncic. The Slovenian contributed 51 points with nine rebounds and six assists for the Mavericks in the game.
The Toronto Raptors defeated the Houston Rockets 139-120 in their NBA clash. Gary Trent Jr and Pascal Siakam contributed a combined 72 points for the Raptors in the game.
Miami Heat defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 112-97 in their NBA encounter on Thursday. Bam Adebayo led the scoring with a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds, and Jimmy Butler finished with 29 points. Kyle Lowry finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for the Heat.
The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Detroit Pistons 132-107. Ja Morant led the scoring with 23 points, and Desmond Bane contributed 22 points. Steven Adams recorded a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds in the game for the Grizzlies.
