NBA Recap: Nets win as Kyrie returns, Thompson inspires Warriors
Nuggets, Lakers, Cavs, Suns all pick up wins
Kyrie Irving returned to action after being suspended by the Brooklyn Nets for antisemitism and he helped the Nets to a 127-115 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Irving missed the Nets’ last eight games but scored 14 points on his return. Kevin Durant and Ben Simmons led the way with 27 and 22 points, respectively. Dillon Brooks scored 31 points for the Grizzlies.
Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets 127-120 in their NBA clash on Sunday. Klay Thompson led the scoring for the Warriors with a season-high 41 points in the game as Steph Curry scored 33 points and 15 assists. Kevin Porter Jr scored 30 points for the Rockets.
Cleveland Cavaliers claimed a 113-87 win over the Miami Heat in their NBA encounter. Darius Garland led the scoring with 25 points as Cedi Osman scored 20 points and 12 rebounds. Bam Adebayo scored 21 points for the Heat.
Sacramento Kings defeated the Detroit Pistons 137-129 in their NBA clash on Sunday. De’Aaron Fox led the scoring for the Kings with 33 points while Harrison Barnes scored 27 points in the game. Talented rookie Jaden Ivey scored 24 points for the Pistons.
Washington Wizards claimed a 106-102 win over the Charlotte Hornets in their NBA clash. Bradley Beal scored 26 points and Kyle Kuzma scored 28 points and ten rebounds in the game. Kelly Oubre Jr scored 23 points for the Hornets.
Phoenix Suns defeated the New York Knicks 116-95 in their road match on Sunday in the NBA. Cameron Payne scored 21 points and Devin Booker scored 20 points for the Suns. Jalen Brunson scored 27 points for the Knicks in the game.
Denver Nuggets edged the Dallas Mavericks 98-97 in their NBA clash on Sunday. Nah’Shon Hyland led the scoring with 29 points for the Nuggets and Michael Porter Jr scored 14 points in the game. Luka Doncic scored 22 points for the Mavericks.
Los Angeles Lakers trounced the San Antonio Spurs comprehensively, running out 123-92 winners in their NBA clash. Anthony Davis led the scoring with 30 points and 18 rebounds as Austin Reaves scored 21 points for the Lakers. Darius Vassell scored 17 points for the Spurs.
