The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 124-81 in the NBA on Monday following a timid performance from the Trail Blazers. Karl-Anthony Towns led the scoring with 27 points and 13 rebounds in only 24 minutes of action, and Naz Reid contributed 18 points and 11 rebounds. D’Tigers Josh Okogie contributed nine points for the Timberwolves.
LeBron James missed out as the Los Angeles Lakers went down 117-110 against the San Antonio Spurs in their NBA clash on Monday. Dejounte Murray contributed 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Spurs in their win.
The Detroit Pistons managed a 113-110 OT win over last season’s Eastern Conference finalists Atlanta Hawks. Cade Cunningham was impressive for the Pistons with his tally of 28 points and 10 assists, and Josh Grant added 23 points.
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Chicago Bulls 121-106 in their NBA clash on Monday, with Joel Embiid contributing a double-double of 43 points and 14 rebounds for the Sixers. James Harden also contributed 16 points and 14 assists in the game.
The Denver Nuggets handed the Golden State Warriors their ninth defeat in the last 10 games in the NBA this season as they ran out 131-124 winners in the game. Nikola Jokic contributed his second successive triple double with 32 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists for the Nuggets. The Warriors were without Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton II and Klay Thompson for the game.
Miami Heat held on to the #1 spot in the Eastern Conference of the NBA with a 123-106 win over the Houston Rockets. Tyler Herro scored 31 points for the Heat as Bam Adebayo contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds and Gabe Vincent recorded seven points in three minutes on the court.
Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to a 111-103 win over the Utah Jazz with an efficient performance. Doncic scored 35 points and made 16 rebounds for the Mavericks in the game, and Spencer Dinwiddie added 23 points of his own to the tally.
The New York Knicks defeated the Sacramento Kings 131-115 in their NBA meeting. Julius Randle led the scoring with 46 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks, and RJ Barrett contributed 29 points.
