NBA Round Up: Curry drops 42 to help Warriors continue streak, Westbrook records 40th triple-double & Cavs prevail in double OT
The Golden State Warriors and their winning streak shows no sign of ending after seeing off the Washington Wizards, while the Cleveland Cavaliers outlasted the Indiana Pacers in a thriller as Russell Westbrook’s triple-double was not enough to lift the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Reigning NBA MVP Steph Curry scored 42 points to help the Warriors beat the Washington Wizards 139-115 on Sunday.
It was Golden State’s 11th consecutive win.
Defending champions the Cavaliers outduelled the Pacers 135-130 after double overtime in Cleveland.
Westbrook posted his 40th triple-double of the season but the Thunder still lost 113-101 at home to the Charlotte Hornets.
The San Antonio Spurs held off the Utah Jazz 109-103 on the back of another impressive performance from Kawhi Leonard, while the Houston Rockets defeated the Phoenix Suns 123-116 without James Harden.
CURRY DAZZLES IN OAKLAND
It was the Curry of old at Oracle Arena.
Curry nailed nine three-pointers and tallied eight assists for the streaking Warriors.
Draymond Green recorded his 19th triple-double and fifth of the season via 11 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds.
LEBRON UPSTAGES GEORGE
Cavs star LeBron James scored 41 points, including a three-pointer in the final minute of the second overtime period.
James also had 15 rebounds and 11 assists in back-to-back wins for Cleveland.
Paul George led the Pacers with 43 points.
WESTBROOK CLOSING IN ON RECORD
With his 40 points,13 rebounds and 10 assists, Westbrook moved within one of Oscar Robertson’s record of 41 triple-doubles in an NBA regular season.
It was Westbrook’s fifth straight 30-point triple-double, which is the longest such streak in NBA history.

DEPLETED SPURS VICTORIOUS
Leonard had 25 points and seven assists for the Spurs.
All of this in the absence of Manu Ginobili, David Lee, Patty Mills, LaMarcus Aldridge and Danny Green.
CELTICS STAY ATOP EAST, BUTLER LIFTS BULLS
Isaiah Thomas starred again as the Boston Celtics defeated the New York Knicks 110-94 for their 50th win, while Jimmy Butler’s 39 points helped the Chicago Bulls past the New Orleans Pelicans 117-110.
The Los Angeles Lakers were 108-103 winners over the Memphis Grizzlies, the Milwaukee Bucks lost 109-105 to the Dallas Mavericks, the Toronto Raptors were too good for the Philadelphia 76ers 113-105, the Denver Nuggets edged the Miami Heat 116-113 and the Atlanta Hawks went down 91-82 to the Brooklyn Nets.
QUIET DAY IN NBA
There is only one game scheduled on Monday and it is the Minnesota Timberwolves hosting the Portland Trail Blazers.
