NBA Wrap: Paul George shines on return from injury for Clippers
Nets return to winning ways as Bucks, Bulls, Mavericks win
Paul George was at the centre of everyone’s attention as he made his return to action after three months out injured. He inspired the Los Angeles Clippers to a 121-115 win over the Utah Jazz on his first game back.
Paul George helped the Clippers claw back a 25-point deficit against the Utah Jazz in a win that keeps them in the play-in places with only six games left in the regular season.
Paul George scored 34 points and Reggie Jackson contributed 21 points for the Clippers, while Donovan Mitchell scored 33 points for the Utah Jazz in the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers have dropped out of the play-in places following a 128-110 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks. Luka Doncic led the scoring with a triple-double of 34 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists against a Lakers side that was without LeBron James and Anthony Davis due to injury. Malik Monk and Russell Westbrook scored 28 and 25 points, respectively, for the Lakers.
The Brooklyn Nets returned to winning ways with a 130-123 win over the Detroit Pistons. Kevin Durant inspired the Nets with his tally of 41 points and 11 rebounds. Kyrie Irving dropped 24 points in what was only his second home game of the season. Cade Cunningham led the scoring for the Pistons with 34 points on the night.
Chicago Bulls picked up a 107-94 win over the Washington Wizards in their NBA clash. DeMar DeRozan led the scoring for the Bulls with 32 points and Nikola Vucevic contributed 27 points, as well.
Defending champions Milwaukee Bucks won the showdown against the Philadelphia 76ers following a brilliant performance by Giannis Antetokounmpo once more. The Greek Freak finished with 40 points and 14 rebounds to help his side to a 118-114 win. James Harden scored 32 points and Joel Embiid scored 29 points for the 76ers.
