NBA’s Nigerian boys shine bright
NBA’s number 5 draft pick, Isaac Okoro of the Cleveland Cavaliers helped his team to defeat the Detroit Pistons by 128 points to 119 points. Okoro chipped in with 3 rebounds during his 42 mimutes on the court.
American-born Nigerian Small Forward, Josh Okogie was instrumental as the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated Utah Jazz by 116 points to 111 points, as he scored 8 points, made 2 assists and 6 rebounds in his 32 minutes on the court.
In other news, James Harden scored 44 points and registered 17 assists for Houston Rockets against the Portland Trail Blazers as his team lost in overtime by 128 points to 126 points after an equally inspired performance by CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard who dropped 44 and 32 points respectively. Harden’s point haul was his 4th career game in which he has scored 40+ points and 15+ assists, something no other player has achieved more than twice in the past 20 seasons.
