Ndidi, Onuachu, Nwaiwu Lead Nigerian Stars in Europa, Conference League Action
Nigerian footballers will be in action across Europe on Thursday as the UEFA Europa League and Conference League continue with another round of matches.
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will lead the Nigerian interest in the Europa League when Beşiktaş travel to Scotland to face Celtic at 9pm Nigerian time.
Ndidi has already scored once in this season’s competition and will be hoping to help his Turkish club secure a positive result.
Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho could also feature for Omonia when they visit Dutch side NEC Nijmegen at 6:45pm.
In the Conference League, Nigerian duo Chibuike Nwaiwu and Paul Onuachu are expected to be involved when Trabzonspor host German side Freiburg at 6:45pm.
Onuachu, who has already scored in the competition this season, will be hoping to add to his goal tally, while defender Nwaiwu will look to make his impact at the back.
However, some Nigerian players will miss Thursday’s action.
Nathan Tella is struggling with a muscle injury, while Victor Boniface is not registered for Bayer Leverkusen’s Europa League campaign.
Samuel Chukwueze will also be unavailable for AC Milan as he continues his recovery from surgery on a thigh injury.
